Tune your guitar, piano, voice or other instrument, with this tool. You can play notes to match you instrument via harmonisation. Alternatively you can tune your instrument by watching the analyser display as you tune the instrument and match the required frequency.
Audio Context needs to be restarted.
This is due to the Audio Context being initially set to ‘suspended’ as specified by the Web Standard for Web Audio.

Instrument Tuner Help
Microphone
You can use the microphone on you device to analyse sound, a musical instrument, or you voice. The microphone card has two switches.
Use the ‘Sound On’ switch to turn on the sound and the microphone input will be sent to your audio output (e.g. speakers).
Turn the ‘Analysis On’ switch on and you can see the analyser display at the bottom reflect the noise picked up by the microphone.
Oscillator
This is for making sounds from you device via the two instrument controls below (piano and guitar).
This has two switches like the microphone: one to control the sound of the Oscillator and one to show the analysis of it's output in the analyser at the bottom.
There is also one other switch, ‘Continuous On’, which when turned on, will allow continuous sound to come from the Oscillator without the need to hold the mouse down (or touch continuously) the keys on the instruments. In this mode, you just need to tap the key and the sound will play continuously until you hit either the same key to turn it off again or hit another key to make a different sound.
The ‘Gain’ slider will control the volume of the Oscillator sound.
The ‘Shape’ buttons will control the type of sound the Oscillator makes.
Instruments
There are two instrument that can be used to make sounds, the piano and the guitar. They are connected, and you will see reactions on both as you use either.
Click/touch any of the keys on the piano and the circles at the top of the guitar or any of the strings to make sounds.
The piano has a range of octaves to use. The guitar is set to use the six open strings (e.g. Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie).
Whenever you hit a note, that note will have a yellow border. This is the key you are using.
Also, you may notice the key/string turning green. This is what the analyser believes is the note currently playing. You will also see this when the Microphone Analysis On Switch is enabled and you sing, or play a guitar, near the microphone. This will allow you to tune your instrument or train your voice.
The analyser struggles at low frequencies. You may notice that when you hit the lower octave keys on the piano that the green indicator jumps about. This shows the limits of the analyse.
Analyser
The analyser works with the sound playing, either from the Oscillator or the Microphone.
The analyser is split into three parts: a Oscilloscope, Spectrum, and Registry.
The Oscilloscope will show the waveform of the sound.
The Spectrum will display bars with each bar showing the amplitude of its relevant frequency.
The Registry will try to determine the most prominent frequency and show it's note value and frequency in hertz.
